Yacht Life Sciences has a role of Electrical Engineer/System Owner at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Leiden (the Netherlands).
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Electrical Engineer/System Owner to join our team. In this critical role, you will take ownership of our electrical systems, ensuring their reliability, performance, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. As the Electrical Engineer/System Owner, you will play a vital role in driving the long-term strategy for electrical infrastructure, managing system improvements, and supporting the implementation of new assets across our operations.
In this position, you will act as a subject-matter expert, troubleshooting issues, maintaining system documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance. You will be responsible for developing maintenance strategies, recommending life cycle investments, and ensuring that all electrical systems meet operational requirements. Additionally, you will provide technical support to project teams, ensuring the maintainability of new installations and acting as the primary point of contact for electrical system-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Electrical Engineer/System Owner, overseeing electrical systems across multiple locations to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
- Develop and implement maintenance and reliability strategies for electrical systems, including preparing business cases for replacement investments.
- Provide technical expertise in projects as a core team member, ensuring electrical systems meet safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage system documentation, including technical specifications and maintenance records.
- Support project teams by ensuring the maintainability and reliability of electrical installations during implementation.
- Lead efforts to upgrade and improve electrical systems, driving technical enhancements to meet both operational and regulatory needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical system-related queries, ensuring clear communication and support from a maintenance perspective.

Job requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (HBO level) in Electrical Engineering, Maintenance, or a related field.
- Proven expertise, >5 years of relevant experience in managing electrical systems within industrial or regulated environments (e.g., Process, Pharma, Biotech etc.).
- Strong technical proficiency and troubleshooting capabilities, with in-depth knowledge of electrical systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., NEN, ISO). NEN3140 VP certification is a plus.
- Hands-on experience working with electrical assets.
- Knowledge of GMP standards is an advantage.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Terms of employment
We offer a competitive employment package in line with the seniority of the position, with a salary between €4,600 and €5,850 per 4 weeks/based on 40 hours per week.
This concerns a contract via Yacht with an initial assignment for 1 year at Johnson & Johnson, with a possibility of extension.
Working full-time, 40 hours p/w is preferred (32-36 h p/w can be discussed)
You will always be paid 100% of your salary during your employment contract.
