Als Algemeen Directeur geef je strategische richting aan de Rijksakademie en ben je zowel intern als extern het boegbeeld van de organisatie. Je leidt de Rijksakademie als een dynamisch ecosysteem, waarin kunstenaars, advisors en medewerkers samenwerken en elkaar versterken. Met jouw strategische visie, verbindend leiderschap en diplomatieke vaardigheden zorg je ervoor dat de Rijksakademie haar cruciale rol in het (inter)nationale kunstveld blijft vervullen en verder uitbouwt.

Over de Rijksakademie
De Rijksakademie biedt een tweejarig residentieprogramma aan ongeveer vijftig kunstenaars van over de hele wereld. Het programma ondersteunt artistieke ontwikkeling door ruimte te bieden voor onderzoek, experiment en productie van nieuw werk. Residents beschikken over een studio, een werkbudget en een stipendium, en werken in een dynamische omgeving met geavanceerde technische werkplaatsen, een breed scala aan artistieke advisors die professionals in het veld zijn, en een interdisciplinaire gemeenschap. Binnen dit internationale en diverse ecosysteem hebben kunstenaars de vrijheid om te werken en te experimenteren zonder een vast curriculum.

De Rijksakademie onderscheidt zich als een platform voor artistieke innovatie en reflectie. De instelling speelt een cruciale rol in het culturele ecosysteem en biedt kunstenaars de kans om zich te ontwikkelen en te verbinden met een internationaal netwerk. Alumni zijn vertegenwoordigd in vooraanstaande musea, biënnales en artistieke initiatieven over de hele wereld.

Opgericht in 1870, heeft de Rijksakademie zich ontwikkeld tot een internationaal toonaangevende residency. Oorspronkelijk functioneerde het als een klassieke academie en leidde kunstenaars op zoals Piet Mondriaan, Karel Appel en Constant. In de jaren ‘80 werd de koers verlegd en werd het een artistiek laboratorium waarin studio’s, technisch onderzoek en kritische dialoog met advisors centraal staan.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Je krijgt een aanstelling volgens de Museum CAO. De inschaling is schaal 15 (€ 5.909 – € 8.986,) op basis van ervaring. Het betreft een dienstverband van 1.0 fte. In eerste instantie betreft dit een arbeidsovereenkomst voor bepaalde tijd, maar met de intentie deze om te zetten in een arbeidsovereenkomst voor onbepaalde tijd.

As General Director, you give strategic direction to the Rijksakademie and are the figurehead of the organisation both internally and externally. You lead the Rijksakademie as a dynamic ecosystem, in which artists, advisors and staff work together and strengthen each other. With your strategic vision, connecting leadership and diplomatic skills, you ensure that the Rijksakademie continues to fulfil and expand its crucial role in the (inter)national art field.

The Rijksakademie offers a two-year residency program to approximately fifty artists from around the world. The programme supports artistic development through providing space for research, experimentation, and the production of new work. Residents are provided with a studio, a working budget, and a stipend, and work in a dynamic environment with advanced technical workshops, a range of artistic advisors who are professionals in the field, and an interdisciplinary community. Within this international and diverse ecosystem, artists have the freedom to work and experiment without a fixed curriculum. The Rijksakademie distinguishes itself as a platform for artistic innovation and reflection. It plays a crucial role in the cultural ecosystem, offering artists the opportunity to develop and connect with an international network. Alumni are represented in leading museums, biennials, and artistic

Employment conditions
